Gah! I'm 35 weeks. Too hot. On crutches. 3rd cold in 3 bloody weeks. No appetite. 22 month toddler to care for.

TheOnlySeven Fri 18-Jul-14 14:33:34

Sympathies, our garden is 30 degrees, I'm hiding inside next to a fan with the curtains closed. I'm 31 weeks with a 14 month old and 2.5yo. People who specifically plan Sepember babies around the school year and actually want to be massively pregnant in July and August are mad.

stargirl1701 Fri 18-Jul-14 14:36:09

smile No school planning here as we're in Scotland. Months to avoid are Jan/Feb!

I want a Gin and Tonic. I want to take Night Nurse tonight at bedtime. Bloody paracetamol. 'Tis rubbish!

Wellwellwell3holesintheground Fri 18-Jul-14 14:39:20

Grim. Paddling pool saved my life when I was pregnant with DS1 in the summer of 2006. It was 33 degrees in Bristol on 19th July 06. I lived off ice lollies. We were having building work done and had no kitchen and no flushing toilet for a bit.

Awful memories. If you're near me in Bristol come over - I've nicked the air conditioner from my work and the sitting room is actually too cold...

Wellwellwell3holesintheground Fri 18-Jul-14 14:40:04

OK, you're a bit far away!

Hmm, depends on where you stand on alcohol, but you could have a cheat's gin and tonic. Take a highball glass and up end it in a tsp of gin you've placed on a saucer -just to ensure a little has clung to its edge. Then fill the glass with ice and lemon and good tonic, chilled. The fragrance from the gin is so strong, it goes up your nose and you will swear you can taste it. This is an old pub 'trick' to save on gin!
Of course if you're zero tolerance, this is no bloody use at all.
I feel for you though. Hope it gets a little cooler / easier.

stargirl1701 Fri 18-Jul-14 14:54:57

Ha! I tried that trick with my last pg. It doesn't work grin I suspect it only works in pubs with people who have already had a few G&Ts!

4 weeks tomorrow...do second babies come earlier?!?!?!

spence24 Fri 18-Jul-14 14:56:48

Not that I'm helping but Wellwellwell3holesintheground, I remember July 2006 so well - I had just moved into my first flat in Bath - a loft apartment, and the WALLS were insulated. I thought I was going to die, and I wasn't even pregnant.

SO glad this one isn't due until January.

stargirl1701 Fri 18-Jul-14 15:08:21

I'm glad I wasn't pg last summer!

LBNM19 Fri 18-Jul-14 15:36:52

I no the feeling 2 year old, I'm 26 weeks pregnant but struggling badly in this heat we are laying on the sofa watching Madagascar, all I've eaten for the last few weeks is micro wave meals :/ I just can't bring myself to cook, hope your feeling better soon xx

Heatherbell1978 Fri 18-Jul-14 15:54:58

stargirl1701, I'm 36 wks and in Scotland. I'm just bored! Mat leave started last week and although I'm not too bothered about the heat, I'm not used to not being at work. I'm so organised, nursery all done, everything bought, everything ready. All my friends are at work. I know I shouldn't complain though....

stargirl1701 Fri 18-Jul-14 20:31:50

Heatherbell, I think we are due around the same date. I recall another thread you were on. Is it your first? We have NOTHING organised grin DH is heading into the attic tomorrow. We need to order new mattresses for the Moses basket and crib too.

It's cooled down a lot since the rain started an hour ago, thank goodness! Still want some Night Nurse... grin

Redling Fri 18-Jul-14 21:35:24

I was one of those people planning for a September baby, then we got pregnant within a fortnight of coming off the pill, so now due on 15th Aug. if we have another though I'm defo aiming for a spring baby as I'm dying! My living room is currently 25.9 degrees at half 9 according to my Gro Egg. Not pleasant.

stargirl1701 Sat 19-Jul-14 11:38:24

Poor DD is unwell. Temp up to 39 degrees. Just wants cuddled.

flusteredmumto2 Sat 19-Jul-14 11:48:24

You have my sympathies, I'm 36 weeks, on crutches with a 3 and 5 year old. Thank goodness today is slightly cooler thanks to the rain. My dp is away till Monday night and I'm trying to keep them entertained but its not easy. I just want to sleep.

Poor little thing i hope she feels better soon, calpol and cbeebies and just put your feet up.

stargirl1701 Sat 19-Jul-14 11:51:20

The rain has helped with the heat. She's sleeping on me now. Been a while since this happened!

Heatherbell1978 Sat 19-Jul-14 19:03:25

Stargirl1701, yes I'm due 15th August and it's my first:-) I'm just one of those people that likes to have everything ready but I perhaps should have left some stuff to do for mat leave starting! Baby is moving so much now, I can feel everything, have limbs poking out all over the place.....not sure how it's possible this baby can grow more over the next 4 wks....yikes!!!

stargirl1701 Sat 19-Jul-14 19:06:36

I know! There's no room left! I was super organised for DD as I had the whole summer holidays (teacher) to nest grin We haven't ended up doing anything today because DD is so poorly.

You're not in Perthshire, are you?

squizita Sat 19-Jul-14 19:42:58

32 weeks ... boiling... not so much a designated September baby as a Christmas weekend away, no period New Year's Day kinda baby LOL.

Wearing one-size cheap beach cover ups as dresses.

Heatherbell1978 Sat 19-Jul-14 20:20:44

Stargirl1701 well you're a pro then! No I'm in Edinburgh:-) Not so sunny today...

stargirl1701 Sat 19-Jul-14 20:26:41

No, a day of rain! No thunder here though.

Safyre Sat 19-Jul-14 21:05:47

39 weeks and for the last 2 days DS (22m) has decided that big boys dont nap. Am just outside Glasgow so everywhere is covered in commonwealth games bunting and similar, and I am fed up of everything. And to top it all off DH cooked me dinner tonight and the topping fell off the pizza and blistered my lip. Due on Monday - DS was a week early so in my head I already feel overdue!

stargirl1701 Sat 19-Jul-14 21:09:48

Safyre, that's hellish. Nap time is my favourite part of the day! thanks

Had 2 false starts in the week & I'm just waiting, who has contracts that just bloody stop?!!.... I'm so fed up.....

stargirl1701 Sun 20-Jul-14 18:22:35
