Pregnancy

Braxton Hicks at 15 weeks??

This is baby number 3 and I've been getting BH for the past couple of days. Not painful, but strong enough to be very aware of my belly tightening.

I don't remember getting them this early with the other two.

Should I be concerned? Or is this just normal in third pregnancies?

TIA.

I had BH from 19 wks (1st preg), starting off a couple of tightenings per week, now 32 wks and getting up to a dozen a day! never painful, just very noticeable and need to stop what i'm doing for a minute till it passes. have asked MW's about it a few times and they don't seem concerned. If in any doubt, check with your MW, but generally as long as they don't hurt, it's just another (delightful!) side-effect of pregnancy!

I think they happen most of the way through but are only noticeable later on. I'd mention it to your mw though

Thanks for posting, very reassuring.

I've got an appointment with midwife next week anyway so will mention it then.

Will try to stop worrying in the meantime Smile

First pregnancy- around 18 weeks
Now with second- around 14 weeks.. I'm now 25 weeks.. And they get stronger when I carry DS (10 month old) around to long or he accidentally hits my stomach..

Yes, i had them from about 16 2) weeks this time. Make sure you're drinking enough water as they can get worse when you're not fully hydrated.

I got them with 2nd pregnancy, not with 1st. Never really worried about them to be honest. They are crazy after I've had sex (sorry if TMI)

Thanks all.

BH have settled down a lot since the weekend (have been trying to take it a bit easier - tricky with a 5 year old and 3 year old though!)

Spoke to midwife today and she said BH at 15 weeks is unusual but she's not hugely concerned. She said if I had pain or bleeding, or if they felt like proper contractions, to call her back.

So I think all is fine :)
