Early pregnancy - will the tiredness pass?

Or does it get worse?

I think about sleep all day every day and I'm only 6 weeks pg. I lie down for a rest when I get in at night (about 6pm, DH has been making the dinner), usually end up dosing off about 9pm for half an hour, go to bed about 10.30-11, feel mildly nauseous and hot so can't sleep right away.
When I sleep I'm in a deep sleep but having epic, vivid dreams and I still wake up tired at 6.30amConfused

When I'm at my most tired I seem to be getting a lot of period like cramps, presumably from my uterus stretching- is this what is making me tired?

Week 10 was the worst for me, I'm now at 16 weeks and feel moderately normal again.

Thanks! I hope so, I'm due to start a new job around the 14 weeks mark so wouldn't be good I my present state!

Weeks 9-10 the worst here too. Things got a lot better around 13-14 weeks, and all the sickness lifted too.

I'm still tired at 27 weeks but it's not the same crippling feel-like-you're-dying tiredness. I just need to sit down sometimes.

Period like cramps quite normal in early pregnancy

I also started a new job around 15 weeks and it was ok - probably the best time in pregnancy to start a new job, if you have to!

Thanks, glad it will hopefully pass! I haven't really been sick, just no appetite and struggle to finish a meal so I think that's contributing to the tiredness too.

The exhaustion of early pregnancy passed at about 14 weeks for me but I still feel tired most of the time, but I work in a nursery and I am very busy, I had a week off ages ok and I felt great, as soon as I was back at work the tiredness returned. I am 28 weeks now!

I'm in week 8 and today I'm absolutely exhausted! Not done much at all but still feel like having an early night. DH has started say that if I'm this lazy the baby will be lazy too and how the baby won't be bother to come out. :( He's only joking but still...

Week 9 was the worst for me, so it might stop soon! I still get tired, but it is a normal tired feeling rather than crippling exhaustion.

Basically I felt like I had an awful hangover for 6 weeks. It does stop though, so hang in there :)

A hangover is the best way to describe it! It's like the tiredness you get the Monday after a heavy weekend of partying!

Agree with the hangover description! Think I've refilled my energy levels for last week of work before the summer hols. Hopefully when I go back in August I'll be feeling better.

Sleep! By week 18/19/20 you'll be feeling much better : ) I know that feels an age away right now, but it honestly does pass. Bad news is that by week 32 you'll be right back there again so make the most of the energy when it comes!

I'm totally exhausted too! 8 weeks tomorrow I think and can barely function at the moment! Can't wait for this part to pass because it's making me so miserable!

Does your new job know your pregnant?

I am in my third trimester now, and I think my experience has been pretty standard.

I had a very tiring first trimester, constantly nauseous and sleepy.

I was absolutely fine in my second trimester, there were times when I could forget for a moment that I was pregnant at all!

Third trimester, I now feel a bit heavier although nothing debilitating, and it does feel harder to get comfortable now and sometimes I can feel the baby encroaching into the space that my lungs are supposed to occupy! Tiredness has returned, I often feel sleepy for no reason (i.e. this morning at 11 am I felt desperate for a nap which is really unlike how I used to be - I had one and was tired again a few hours later! I've peaked up now though).

If I'm still really bad tomorrow I'm going to tell my close team at work as I am a nursery teacher and we're very busy at the moment. Thought I'd keep it secret unless I was sick but this is pretty bad too!

In my first pregnancy, I was shattered weeks 5-14, much better weeks 14-22, knackered again weeks 22-32, felt BRILLIANT weeks 32-37 (stopped work at 32 weeks though!!) and then very tired heavy and sore for final 3-4 weeks.

This pregnancy seems to be similar - 27 weeks now - but not stopping work till 37 weeks this time, wail!

I managed to not have any sick days when shattered and nauseous back in Feb/March but have just had a week off sick which I feel rubbish about. I am stressed and tired and work is too much and relentless. But hopefully the week off will have given me the strength to continue (though I have spent most of it looking after toddler with chickenpox, sigh)

In conclusion the tiredness sort of passes but it comes back in another form! And you need to take time off where you need to take time off, particularly if you work a busy job on your feet (I do too). But I do think the first trimester is the hardest especially as generally no one knows you are pregnant (in 3rd trimester you get sympathetic looks).

I was at my worst around wk 8-9 which coincided very unhelpfully with Christmas and New Year! Nausea all passed at wk 13 and I remember still not quite being myself energy wise when we went on holiday around wk 17 but by the 20wk scan I felt really good. I'm 33 wks now and still feeling fine and only get tired if I push myself (tired today after an all day wedding yesterday). Honestly the first trimester is the worst!

I suspect the exhaustion will pass. I slept for hours for the first 10 weeks, then felt better. Good luck and congratulations!

Last pregnancy it was exhausting. This one not so much. I think it tailed off before 12 weeks though. Hope you feel better soon

Definitely feeling a lot better after a restful weekend, hopefully this week will continue like that!

I think mine has followed fairly classic pattern - very tired first tri, which felt much more hormonal (sick, emotional). Second tri felt much more energetic and 'normal'. Getting a bit more tired again towards end of third tri but feels much more 'physical' now (achey and drained). First tri was definitely the worst - although I feel tired now I still feel like myself, whereas in the first tri I just felt really 'out of sorts' and horrible.

Weeks 7-9 were the worst, slowly got better from then, but still felt pretty knackered intermittently until 16 weeks, and didn't feel good until about 22 weeks, didn't start enjoying and feeling energetic until 24 weeks. It has definitely got slowly better week by week since week 9. I'm 28 weeks now. Actually had moments of enjoying pregnancy and feeling really good over last month.
