Hi all, just wanting some reassuring advice plz, I'm 5 weeks n 5 days pregnant & yesterday noticed a small amount of light brown/beige discharge, nothing since & no pain but dr has booked me in for an early scan tomorrow, just wondered if anyone had similar symptoms n continued healthy pregnancy, trying not to stress too much until scan tmoro!! Any advice welcome plz

It's not unusual, I had something similar and have a healthy bouncing toddler. If there's no pain that's a good sign. Take it easy, lay off the gin and see what tomorrow brings xx

I had this with both pregnancies and had early scans, all was fine.

Yes, I had this and DS is now upstairs aged 5! Mine was a sub chorionic haematoma, but didn't cause problems and was gone within three or four weeks.

I have had brown spotting throughout. Started at 7 weeks, came back at 11 weeks, then again on and off up to 20 weeks, then I had some more last week at 29 weeks. Never much but always enough to trouble me. Midwives and doctors have always been very reassuring though so not always a bad sign. Good that you have a scan tomorrow, although it's early for a heartbeat etc so they might want you to return later too - be prepared for that and good luck!

Thank u, feeling slightly less nervous although still quite anxious as expected, the dr did say as very early they may not be able to tell me much & that I may have to be rescanned in a couple of weeks, fingers crossed

I had brown discharge from the getgo and unfortunately it wasn't good news for me so i am not going to say everything will be fine, but i will say that spotting in early pregnancy is very common and you stand a good chance of everything being fine. Good luck xxx

I would expect an internal scan, which is a lot less scary than it sounds. At mine, it was a small wand type thing which they covered with a condom and lube. Had to strip off bottom half and cover myself with a sheet but the sonographer was so experienced she didn't even need to look at me, just slipped it in! Didn't hurt at all, nothing like a smear or anything. She showed me the screen as soon as she had seen everything she needed to too. Good luck.

Was just about to update, gestational sac & yolk visible but nothing else as yet, I've to go back for a re-scan in 1 week to see if anything appears, so it will be a long week wait until nxt tues, trying to stay positive as the sonographer said it's normal to see the yolk sac before fetal pole visible so fingers crossed

Sounds positive at 5 weeks and 5 days! I know it will feel like a long week but I think it's normal not to see a heartbeat yet. I was 7 weeks and 3 days and people were warning me it might be too soon. Rest lots this week and good luck.
