I'm 5 months today (yippee!) but I look like I've eaten a big meal I don't look pregnant yet. This is my first bub so I know it could be down to that. But how far on were you with your first when you started to 'look' pregnant. Bub doesn't appear to be moving much either. Went for a check up on monday and all was well, just can't help worrying. Any advice appreciated.

i didn't start looking pregnant until i was at least 6 months. i remember going to the dentists at 6 months and he and the hygienist didn't believe i was pregnant. i was really glad that my tummy stayed quite compact as by the end of the pregnancy i was still able to do things when my ante-natal class friends were lying groaning on their sofas.
as for the movements, some people feel loads, some don't. it could be that your placenta is at the front and that is making things more difficult to feel. ty not to worry about it (easier said than done, but do try) as if your check-up had revealed anything suspicious you would be in hospital right now and not on Mumsnet.

Am 5 months next week. Am huge. But this is my second. Can't believe there's another 17 cm growth to go, nor can our friends!
With ds, though, it was completely different and loads of people didn't spot the fact I was pregnant until I hit 6 months. Then over the space of 2 weeks I suddenly got this huge bump.
I'd enjoy it while you can. I'm fed up of people looking at my bump first and not me, IYKWIM.

Thanks. You've put my mind at rest...for today! I'll find something else to worry about tomorrow!
I think people just think I've eaten too much, I see them looking but don't they dare ask if I'm pregnant! As for the movements, I get the odd reassuring flutter in the evening when I'm in bed, must be like DH, fidgets when its bed time!

Be happy with small bump! I looked like that with my first baby, saw my in laws that week with a tiny bump - saw them a fortnight later and bump had exploded outwards in a mass of stretch marks! I'm now 14 weeks with third baby and look exactly as I did at five months with the first.......

I agree, be happy with a small bump. Mine was quite big from about 3 months and now at 71/2 months i look like a beached whale and am covered in stretch marks so aslong as everything was fine i wouldnt worry. Plus when i went to my ante-natal classes most of the people were due in the same month and some were massive like me and others i wondered what they were doing there cos their stomachs were totally flat.

Oh yeah and dont worry about worrying i worry about EVERYTHING!!! You will see that from the amount of questions ive asked everyone else but do ask cos everyone on here is lovely and you get great advice!

When I went for my 20 week scan (didn't have a 12-week one) I was convinced there would be nothing to see. Didn't look pregnant, didn't feel any movement. In fact, the baby wriggled so much the scan took forever. The woman remarked that I must be feeling lots of movement. Er no! It'll come!

I had tiny bump with dd. Didn't look remotely pregnant till at least 8 months.
When I took dd in to work quite a few people were astounded because they'd never even realised I had been pregnant! lol

I had a small bump with DD and got sick of people constantly mentioning it. Did not feel her move much either. Am now pregnant again (33 weeks) and feel much bigger and much more uncomfortable. Also feel the baby move more-must be the nackered stomach muscles!

Am now 28 weeks. I now look pregnant when stood up but still tricky to tell when sat as not put on weight elsewhere. At 5 months I only looked slightly plumper round waist but there has been a sudden surge in the last 2 weeks. Had AN appointment yesterday. They measured bump and said size was spot on. Main problem is that I am still not fitting into the maternity wear I bought except 1 pair of jeans and even those keep falling down. Am surviving in non maternity joggers and 1 pair low cut combats. I am however enjoying all the long style vests & t-shirts in the shops esp Primark.

Also didn't move much until past couple of weeks. Now going crazy. Seeing my belly rippling is just bizarre!
