Confused re EDD after very strange LMP

My first post, but have been lurking for 2 months! I've learnt so much, thank you all.
Got my BFP yesterday :-) but confused re LMP and therefore EDD. My last period started with 3 days of extremely light spotting, followed by two days of nothing, then four days of very light bleeding. I never had a period like that before. Should I count day 1 of spotting or 6 days later when bleeding started as my LMP?
I'd be grateful of advice/opinions from anyone who has had similar.

I have had weird periods for years and when I was tracking for my ivf cycles I was always instructed to use the first day of full flow before lunchtime. Spotting days didn't count.

Hope this helps.

Ultimately, they'll date you at the 12 week scan, but hopefully this will just give you a starting point in the meantime.

Meant to say, is there any chance you could have been pregnant thAt month and the weird light period was actually early pregnancy bleeding? Did you test that month?

Thank you ferreroroche123. I had the same thoughts that it could have been early pregnancy bleeding but had a negative HPT on day 1 of spotting, and also used OPKs to pinpoint the next ovulation - they went from negative to positive, and from what I understand if I was pregnant at that stage the HCG would have made them all positive.

Ok, then if you charted your ovulation date, add two weeks on and that would be when you are about 4 weeks pregnant... You can work your EDD from that.

Congrats!
