Pregnancy

i'm a weird shape

i am naturally quite thin (just under 8 stone and 5ft 5) but have put on 3 stone only on my tummy - ok, a little on my arms and thighs too! the bump is like a torpedo - i don't look pregnant from behind and then as i turn around this huge pointed extension appears. i get plenty of laughs when i go out which is nice and now none of my maternity clothes will go over the bump. i am 39 weeks and not engaged and the obs thinks the baby won't engage and its posterior. the baby hangs so far out and above my nunny that i can't see how it could make its way out the traditional way! do you think i am deformed inside and my womb tips outwards? i've never seen anything like it and oy, the backache!
any views anyone?

aww issy sorry to hear that, I have no experience of bumps this being my first one. I'm sure everything is OK and you'll be back to being skinny in no time with a lovely new baby!

This info might be helpful in encouraging baby to get into a better position

thanks mears, will definitely give those positions a try. my braxtons are really painful so i guess its still posterior. i had a scan at 6 weeks and was told i had a bi-cornuate uterus which subsequently hasn't been confirmed but i wonder if this is why i carry in this way?

i too have a bicornuate uterus and i have carried in a really weird shape too, mine is all over to the right with only waters in the left side and the right side is high and pointed too.
i am 38+weeks and babys head has been 3/5 engaged for the last 2 weeks but i have the feeling that babe is posterior as my back ache is excruciating at times, hoping for a vbac but am now thinking it's going to end in an emergency c-sec(had emergency c-sec last time due to breech pre term 33weeek spontaneous labour)but will have to wait and see

its really interesting to hear from someone else with this funny uterus thing! when was yours diagnosed? they told me that its easier to spot when you're not pregnant.
i'm due on thursday but a c-section has been booked for monday at the latest if i haven't given birth naturally. last time i was 2 weeks over and 2 days of induction produced only 3 cms and no engagement so the obs thinks history may repeat itself.
good luck with your birth, i hope you manage to avoid a c-section
good luck with yours
