beetle it all sounds ok to me. We have all had scares with spotting, particularly of the brown variety. The placenta is trying to establish itself, which I think does cause some trauma which can in turn cause some bleeding. Also, your cervix is much more fragile, so any sort of strain on that - sex, straining due to constipation, dildocams etc - can cause light bleeds. It sounds like your abdo pain was from wind? Anyway, Im sure all is fine, but if the bleeding gets heavier, or redder, or more clotty then you should speak to EPU. Or just call them anyway. I avoid talking to mine, because they are not reassuring, they are dismissive and unhelpful, but your lot might be great.

Oh, Beetle, I am sorry I've only just seen your post. How scary, but Motor is absolutely right: browny-red spotting is rotten but perfectly innocuous in those early weeks. Remember mine from weeks six to nine? Constant and annoying but eventually I had to get used to it. Go earlier than Monday if you can manage it: knowledge is power. You will be fine, my love xx

Hi beetle did you get your scan brought forward? I think in pregnancy you need reassurance as soon as poss, so good. I had discharge/spotting for a week or more, and it was always worse in the morning - build-up as you say. Hope the time passes quickly - let us know how you get on.

Sorry Beetele I didn't see this yesterday. I agree with Motor and Pram brown is fine. I had, and still do get brown spotting from time to time. The progesterone is the culprit in my case. I had it when I was constipated, and I get it after sex. I was told it was cervical erosion.

As far as the pain goes, in the early days when I had terrible bloating, the pain was unbelievable. Whilst it was in the same are as AF, they weren't cramps if that makes sense?

And as for short of breath? Welcome to the club. Totally normal. It's to do with the volume of your lungs increasing. Apparently it means we can hyperventilate to ensure there's enough oxygen. It's one of the weirdest things I am getting used to. I feel so unfit and also dizzy from it! So all in all, you're sounding normal

Ooh, nothing like getting your barnet done to make you feel better. I think hair dye is fine. The dyes they use nowadays are so much kinder than for yesteryear.

I'm ok thank you. Food is getting me really down. We went out for a lovely meal last night. I ate 2 mouthfuls. I just can't seem to eat. Today have had a walnut whip as it's all I could stomach. It's so tedious. I'm worried I'm not getting enough nutrients in, but I suppose I can make up for that.

Hello! Was hoping beetle scan would be up first with good news but am running off to work (with boiled sweets galore for nausea) but.... Scan brilliant, right size for dates and nice heart beat. Seem to have developed a large ovarian cyst as well - currently growing faster than little wim.

Maybe - sickness is a bummer huh, mine is getting worse everyday. Jacket potato seems to be all I can imagine eating, but it changes regularly! And half the time don't think I can put anything in my mouth (ESP drinks for some reason)

Waves to motor and pram - loving all the new hair do chat! Might inspire a Barnet change here (ashamed to admit last few trims have been done by DH to save IVF cash!)

I had a great birthday, thanks. I got a pair of swimming goggles, a teapot/teacup combo with saucer (very kitsch) and £150 off mum and dad (divorced) which is the most I have ever received for any occasion. They are spoiling me rotten since IVF and I bleddy love it Th'usband got me the goggles plus a book by Will Self and today is buying me a pair of suede slippers from M&S (he's been on the phone far too many times: 'you're a five, right?'; 'you know you like purple? These ones are aubergine; I like 'em'; 'Do you want 'em furry? Backless?')

My nieces did this and it just warmed my cockles so much. The thought of my baby partying for its mummy's birthday just cracks me up.

Motor, I am used to sober birthdays now I am teetotal Please don't worry about your scan on Monday (and remember the 72-hour pre-scan nerves mean nothing at all is wrong. They're just bastards).

I had a massive melt down. I got so upset at not eating. A slice of bread and fruit juice is all that's gone in. But I think I can manage some chow mein, so that's what I've just ordered. I really hope this passes soon. I want to get back to cooking and baking again!
