Who didn't have sickness....

Writerwannabe83 · 06/08/2013 11:35

I'm feeling anxious because I'm not experiencing morning sickness.

Everything I read and hear states that morning sickness is a positive sign as it shows that the pregnancy is progressing well and that women who suffer morning sickness are less likely to miscarry.

Every day I wake up and part of me is wishing I'd be sick. I have had a few days of my tummy feeling dodgy but that's where it ends.

Am I being silly???

Have had two healthy pregnancies and no sickness either time . Did get some nausea but that's it.
Everyone is different - am sure those with severe morning sickness would be very jealous of those who bypass it.
Try not too worry and enjoy your pregnancy.

I was never sick. Not once
I didn't even feel very sick with 2 of mine, although I did go off coffee and often felt slightly nauseous around tea time

If you're worried speak to your midwife. I'm sure there are lots of non-sick pregnancies Grin
Congrats

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with DC3 and I haven't been sick once throughout the three pregnancies. 2/hopefullfy soon to be 3 healthy children.

I can't imagine how being sick is an indication of a pregnancy going well. I think it's one of those things that people say to make you feel better....like it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day, or if a bird poos on you!

Stop worrying and enjoy your pregnancy x

I was never sick, and had no symptoms, hence why I never found out until I was 23 weeks!

Oh wow - I'm genuinely surprised!! I feel much more reassured now.

I have got my first midwife appointment this afternoon and about 20 minutes ago I actually took another pregnancy test just to make sure I was. I needed to know that in the absence of morning sickness I hadn't imagined it all. Stupid, I know Blush

No sickness at all and I have twins too which supposedly increases sickness!

Everyone differs, you just hear more about the bad/difficult stuff because there's no point in saying I feel great or I'm not sick.

I was tired though, soooooooooo tired

Can I ask what it was like when you went for your scan and were told you were having twins??

I love hearing people's stories about that Smile

Hi writer can I just say I sympathise with your anxiety entirely. I am 8 weeks and 2 days and have had occasional, mild, fleeting nausea, nothing you would really notice. All that you read suggests this puts you at higher risk of miscarriage, and every (well meaning, I know) person asks you if you feel sick. It makes you feel defective if you aren't.
Have you had a scan yet? I had one at 7+2 and was convinced it would be bad news due to my total lack of symptoms, but it was there with a strong heartbeat, and measuring just right.
Good luck with your m/w appt - I hope you get all the reassurance you need. Mine is tomorrow!

Thanks motorcycle

Me and hubby are having a scan next week when I will be 7+4. We aren't doing it because we are particularly worried about the pregnancy but because we are just so excited!!!!! Grin

It will definitely help reassure me though!!!!

I had one instance throughout 2 pregnancies, and I think that was precipitated by being on a hot, packed bus! Even then I wasn't sick, just nauseous.

Good luck for the scan!

I haven't had any sickness either. Felt slightly queasy two or three times in the early days, but that was it! Am now 39+3 and all has gone pretty smoothly.

I was never sick with my DD-now 3. And am 8 weeks now with number 2 and no sickness again. No nausea either..tired and hungry though!
I thought no morning sickness at all was quite rare but maybe not?

Never sick or nauseous with either of the healthy pregs. Good luck.

I had a tiny bit of nausea early on which was more related to the rotten chest infection I had! Never had any sickness at all and I'm 27 weeks today

Nope, no morning sickness. Just be grateful!

Thanks everyone - I feel much better Smile

I have just got back from my Booking In appointment and the midwife also told me that although a lot of women report feeling nauseous, actual vomiting isn't as common as what people think Smile

I didn't have any sickness at all with dd1 or dd2, and only a little with dd 3 & dd4. Expecting dd5 and i experienced quite a lot of nausea in the early days but was only actually sick a few times.
Be glad you don't have it, not having it doesn't mean to say its bad news.

Report
itsliz · 06/08/2013 18:33

I wasn't sick either, not once! Feeling very tired and dizzy now that I'm into my second trimester though, so maybe that's my body's way of evening things out...!
