That's the beauty of the first trimester. Feeling sick, but also very hungry. It's torture, especially when you eat and puke it up. I slept a lot and also took Gaviscon too.

It got better for me once I entered my second trimester.

Yeah I look forward to bed around 5pm and normally snoring on sofa for 8pm rock and roll. 12 weeks seems an age away

I'm 14 weeks and had same problem until last week. I found boiled sweets (especially lemon flavour) helped a little bit. Other than that, non stop eating was the only way...I put on 8lbs by 13 weeks!

Honestly I know it is the last thing you might feel up to but going for a run really will help, it did for me and I wish I had forced myselfto go out more. Just take it easy and trust me will help you feel better after xx

You need to listen to your body.

It is working extremely hard to make a baby! If it's telling you to eat, eat.

If you're worried about nutrition try to make sure you have healthy snacks to hand but do eat and don't feel guilty. It's what your body needs.

I ate a lot in the first trimester. In complete contrast I'm 35 weeks now and eating is really difficult - my stomach is so squashed and its a case of eating or breat

Stupid phone - breathing not breat!

I would try not to worry too much at this stage its your body asking for what it needs. You can still do exercise if you feel up to it.

I put on over half a stone during my first trimester ? couldn?t help it. Same as you I ate to combat my bouts of nausea but apparently crystalised ginger is amazing. Ginger beer is good too ? just anything with ginger! I found fresh air and splashing my face with cold water helped a little bit too. I?m now 13 weeks and the nausea has definitely eased up but I still eat snacks throughout the day ? helps tremedously with energy levels!

Thanks everyone just trying to eat little and often which helps..savory all the way . I have done a few runs which do make me feel a bit better but just for 40 mins nothing to strenuous .

U just forgot how exhausting this stage is and how such a little thing makes u feel so terrible so quickly !! I'm normally quite strict ish with my diet so nice to relax a bit :)

Hello, I am 18 weeks now and found that eating little and often (particularly carbs) was the only way to keep first trimester nausea at bay. I'm a runner but couldn't face it at all. The other thing that really helped me was ginger, either in tea or stem ginger biscuits.

Once I reached 12 weeks I felt totally different and my energy levels are back to normal. So don't despair! Just keep listening to your body and what it tells you. Good luck and take care.
