Anyone recommend a cold/cough remedy for preggy ladies?

Hi ladies, I'm 4 months preg at the mo and have caught a stinking cold and tickly sore cough from dd, who got it from nursery yet again! It's keeping me awake at night and consequently I'm knackered and need some sleep desperately. I know most traditional cough and cold remedies are a no no for preggy ladies. Any safe alternative suggestions, please?

Best thing I can suggest is honey & lemon in hot water for the cough and lots of steaming for the cold. Vicks on your chest too at night maybe?

It is really rotten isn't it, not being able to take anything.

Also, Boots do a lavender gel which is quite soothing at bed time if applied to the temples.
