Ive changed my name cos Im quite embarresed to say,and I hope to god I dont a) get found out or b)forget my changed name!!! but Ive sort of you know with myself yesterday afternoon as dh and I havent had sex since I got pg 14wksago and weirdly have been feeling quite randy!!!!!. Thing is since orgasm Ive had to go to the loo to pass water over and over all yesterday afternoon and also have a worrying cramp below the bump right accross and my back aches too. I still have it this morning and its really worrying me. I'm not sure if it would have been this way anyway , as have history of back problems from last pg.

Im not assigned to a midwife team yet and would have to go to gp for advice. Any midwives around today ?

ooooh gawd cant believe Im posting this .

I can't imagine you've done any harm by touching - did you use anything internally?

I am not a midwife or anybody medical but it sounds a bit like you might have cystitis, which could have started after masturbating (can also happen after sex so don't feel you have done anything wrong!). I would go to your usual doctor straight away, or at least phone NHS direct. NOW! You don't have to tell them how it started, just the symptoms. They are not going to say "Oooh been having a fiddle have we?"

No not at all , dh just asked me the same!. I'm hoping its all unrelated. The pains not good this morning and now feeling quite sick.

Franny is right - phone NHS direct NOW! There's nothing like worrying to make things worse!

Lol at "Oooh been having a fiddle have we?" though

sounds to me like cystitis, espically if you have not been down there recently , honeymoon cystitis

I have had cystitis in the same circumstances - [can't be bothered to blush] and if left untreated it can quickly become a kidney infection - which sounds possible from the backache etc. Are you feeling generally crap as well, any fever? You really should see the doctor now, this morning.

ah yes - I've been there too! See gp and in the meantime drink loads of fluids.

ahh crapppy crappy , NHS direct are a mare , they say they wont call back for 3hrs. I have an emergency gp surgery at hospital , but its much the same waiting time. So I could have brought it on myself then ??? didnt put anything in or up(ohmygawd how am I saying these things ), how would it bring it on ??

It wont turn into infection if I leave it till Monday morn, Ive got such a nice weekend planned , have been ill last 2 weeks, I want to go out !!!!??

I just had to go and lay down for few mins , came over giddy and short of breath and hot. It happened Thursday morning too , but this could be low blood pressure.

If you can't wait to see a gp I would definitely contact your pharmacy instead. I often phone mine (ask to speak to the pharmacist). They may be able to say if they think that's what you have and recommend something for you to take. Cranberry juice is supposed to be good.
As you're pg I wouldn't want to take any chances with getting an infection.

I've no medical experinece but it sounds like a urinary tract infection. Could be totally unrelated to ...yesterday. If it is a UTI you NEED antibiotics. UTI are more common in pregnancy ( I dont know why). They can also cause a miscarriage early on - I miscarried at 7 weeks after I got one and didnt recognise the symptoms & ran a very high temperature. Sorry not trying to scare you

I don't actually know for sure but I really don't think it will harm the pregnancy. It will probably effect what medicines you can take though. Drink lots of fluids and get that cranberry juice!

When you go to see GP remember to take a urine sample. I think they will test it there and then and if there is any sign of infection, they'll give you an antibiotic. One its safe to take in pregnancy.Dont worry, they won't ask about your sex life

Good idea cupcakes - drinking lots of water and cranberry juice ( if you have some) wont do any harm.

Do they test for cystitis at routine ante-natal appointments when they do the dipstick thing in your sample of urine or is that just a test for protein?

Yes just called back by very nice doctor, didnt muck around there with call back hey . He wants me to come in this afternoon , with sample of course. He said it could be mild infection and should be treated.

Dont worry. Infections are common in pregnancy and lots of women have allergies to penicillin etc so they are bound to have something that is safe for you. I was prescribed about 3 different ones when i was pregnant and had a chest infection. I felt like cra*p but baby was fine
