...for the past 2 days I've been feeling sensations like baby kicks inside me
Thing is, I can't be pg. ds is 7mo, fully bf, only just started weaning. dh and I have had sex about 6 times since the birth. And we've used condoms every time. I can't be pg. Can I?
Had a very small bleed about 3 weeks ago, otherwise no sign of periods. Do have a belly, but never got rid of it after the birth
If I did a test now (far enough on to feel something) it'd be -ve ven if I was pg wouldn't it?
Is there anything else it could be? Do want another, but not quite this soon...

it could be any number of things - wind etc. The only way to know for sure I'm afraid is to test

My IBS sometimes feels like "flutters" you know like when ddw as stroking me inside?

I've had these sensations when not PG, quite a lot of people on here have had this too - there have been a few threads about this in the past. Might be a muscle twinge or just wind. Pretty darn unlikely to be that you're PG.

Very unlikely that you're pregnant.

Ds is 13 months, there is NO way I am preg but I still feel the little kick type feelings sometimes. No idea what causes it!

I get it too sometimes. I think it's a combination of wind and lack of muscle tone post pregnancy. (for me anyway, don't know what your tummy is like!)

hi katz
but would a test work if I'm far enough gone to feel kicks? the hcg level drop off after 12ish weeks don't they?
I also think it's almost impossible. But the stubborn sticking around of my 7-8 kilos extra weight despite rushing around and bf got me wondering a tiny bit, and now this feeling...
The gyn has chased me up about a smear anyway (it's every 6 months over here ) - might go to him and see.

Apparently you have an artery that runs through there, and what you can sometimes feel is your own heartbeat in the artery, which can feel like kicks. Having had a pregnancy you're more sensitive to the way things like that feel, and are more likely to equate it with a baby kicking than with anything else.

Sorry if tmi but I had a cs and since that all my insides feel far more mobile than they did before (yuk). The progress of my dinner quite often feels like kicking!

I still get the movements like when a full term baby is moving there arms or feet around and can feel it but then I find out it's deffo wind . It is most likely wind

oh thank you soph, that thread reassures me no end
We want to ttc once ds turns 1. Now would - for all sorts of reasons - just be too early, though.
Might still test/go to gyn...

it should still work

here are HCG levels through PG
HCG levels peak at about eight to 10 weeks of pregnancy and then decline, remaining at lower levels for the rest of the pregnancy. Here is a sample listing of expected HCG levels based on time after conception:

  • 0-1 week: 0-50 mIU/ml
  • 1-2 weeks: 40-300 mIU/ml
  • 3-4 weeks: 500-6,000 mIU/ml
  • 1-2 months: 5,000-200,000 mIU/ml
  • 2-3 months: 10,000-100,000 mIU/ml
  • 2nd trimester: 3,000-50,000 mIU/ml
  • 3rd trimester: 1,000-50,000 mIU/ml
  • Non-pregnant females:

you get lots of tummy spasms for a long time after baby its just your body getting back to normal. When DS was about 8 months i stood in asda and could have sworn i felt a baby move in me i was so scared that i just stood still for ages panicking in the middle of the store. Also when you feel the moves for so long in you you recognise other things as baby that you just did't recognise before cos you weren't looking out for it.

This is more common than you think. I had this after ds was born and had them for over a year. It totally feels like a baby kick doesn't it? Weird.
