Hospital bag essentials

Please can I have some advise on the practical things I need to take. The lists I have seen seem to be huge and I'm not too keen on waddling into the hospital like I'm staying for a month!!

FOOD!!! i was starving after toast sandwich and hospital meal sent mother out for more!!

take at least 5 packs of sanitry towels and a couple of nighties for u, few outfits for baby then toothbrush, towel and soap ect - dont forget ur not miles away family members can always pop home and fetch u things! i took perfume and makeup - really cheered me up to put it on b4 i went home!!

p.s i took a massive suitcase on wheels far too much lol!!

Do the hospital provide bottles?

My mum is trying to convince me that a suitcase is necessary - I think I'm going to have to stash it somewhere!

my hospital did - it was in throw away glass bottles - but be prepaired there first question was what brand would u like

also get some of the small cartons for the first few days - ull be way 2 nakered and stressed to make it up fresh each time - there good to keep anyway as u literally cut the top off and pour into a steralised bottle

and yes u do need a suitcase i wouldnt bother with the extra pillows people recomend cus the beds sit up if u want anyway

i also used my hospitals baby blankets and nightgown cus i has alot of bloodloss and ruined mine - it was also ridiculasly hot in there!
