I have been religiously bio-oiling etc throughout pg and have been told I'm pretty neat size wise by office full of girls (there are alot of bumps to compare!) but had just seen my first stretch mark booo - I had a bad appendix removed when I was 11 which instead of the neat scars seen today was a good 3 inches long - now looks like a smile on the under side at 6-7 inches! I've just seen a stretch mark off the scar, does this mean I'm likely ro get more? I'm 33 weeks....
Any ideas on prevention - my concern isnt so much vanity at this stage but having scar tissues on scar tissue Sad

Nightmare! I had none until right at the end of my pregnancy and then just the centre of my lower abdomen and my thighs, quite weirdly! I used BioOil too - thought I'd had a bit of a car crash situation stretch-Mark wise after the birth but within a few months they had faded almost completely and now are hardly noticeable!

I think it's one of those things - if you are going to get them then you just will but you're being sensible with the oil, keep at it for a while afterwards and I'm sure they won't be too bad! Good luck!

You can't prevent them. The tissue stretches at a depth you can't reach with creams and potions. You get them or you don't. It's genetic.

I had hundreds, everywhere, but didn't start until about 37 weeks. They've faded to almost nothing now.

Mine didn't start until 39+3. So close! They're not too bad, but monitoring them closely.

Keep bio-oiling! I have stretch marks on my legs (grew freakishly fast as a teenager) and they are almost invisible - they do fade!

I'm 20 weeks today & already have my first stretch marks (just some tiny vertical ones on my stomach) but to be fair they don't bother me that much, I see them as one tiny insignificant downside to such an amazing thing. Smile

I have some on legs/thighs from puberty and a few on my sides from pregnancy.

I was religious with the Bio-Oil with DD and thought I'd escaped...then my milk came in after she was born and suddenly my boobs were covered in them! Don't neglect the boobs when you oil, ladies!

But all faded now and I barely notice them.
