22 weeks and baby activity is getting quite painful - any tips?

I am 22 weeks in third pregnancy, last one was 5 yrs ago so memory a bit hazy but this baby is insanely active. It really goes for it with the kicks and punches and it makes me yell out at times! I have no recollection of things being like this before and certainly not this early on. I am quite anxious about the fact this can only get worse as baby gets bigger until there is no room left. Is this normal for some pregnancies? I really am quite shocked, it is not even a pleasant feeling, all down into the bladder. I loved it when my other two moved about as it was such a gentle reassurance, not this time though. I don't have any symptoms of a urine infection which I thought could make the feelings worse. Anyone else been here or got any tips at all to see me through the next 18 weeks of pummelling?!
Thanks!
Whizz

I've got the exact same feeling and i'm also 22 weeks. When I had my last scan they told me the baby is literally standing up straight in me straight onto my bladder. God knows why its punching and kicking me so much. It has settled down a bit over the weekend so maybe its decided to move into another position. All I had with my son were a few movements each day - none of this punching and kicking!!

I have had some of that too- I have had kicking/jumping on the bladder, also it sometimes feels like it's on the tube from the bladder as it feels like I need to wee when it happens- and it's painful! I have also cried out at times -I don't remember that happening with DC1. But if you're like me, it did stop after a while (I'm 32 wks now) so you may not get it the whole time. Baby is now kicking/punching the sides and top of my belly! A different kind of pain- lol! If you haven't had the pain of them kicking your cervix later on that's pretty horrid too Shock but at least we know they're healthy and active ;-)

Thanks both, you are right at least they are active, better that way, I was beginning to worry he was having a fit or something but that is just barmy I now realise! Roll on another few weeks when there isn't quite so much space in there. Perhaps third time round there is more room!

Hello, I'm 24 weeks and my baby is a 'kicker' too! I can feel the baby moving, kicking and rolling about pretty much all the time. It gets worse just as I'm trying to nod off to sleep..!

It's my first one, so I don't really have any advice. Just wanted to let you know that someone is going through the same. At my 20 week scan, the radiographer commented on how active the baby was - they struggled to get a clear picture. I'm hoping that when there's less room available it will move around less - maybe wishful thinking! Wink
