Where to buy a nice maternity dress for a friends wedding?

Hey guys, just wondered if anyone had any advice on where to find nice maternity dresses? I'm due to go to a friends wedding at the end of November, and will be 6 months pregnant. I've not really bought/spent much on maternity clothes as I'll be wearing them for so short a period, so I don't mind spending a tad more on a nice dress, as I'll also be able to wear it to the Christmas Party etc. I don't want to spend a fortune though, I can't believe some of the websites (eg. look at //www.tiffanyrose.com) and how much they charge! I've had a look at high street stores like Debenhams, Next etc, but non seem to have a large choice, and the majority of what they do have is black, which I'd rather not wear to a wedding. Any advice would be most welcomed! Smile

I got one for a summer wedding from TopShop Maternity. Crave also do nice dresses sometimes, or try ASOS.

Bean, I love the purple block dress on that tiffanyrose website, £95 for a dress is not too much, not cheap but not ridiculous, ie I would easily spend that on a non-maternity dress. Just love the colours, seem very wedding-y. BTW, if it helps, I got married 10 days go and several people wore black to my wedding and looked very stunning, I really don't think it's a no-no any more (and I wore black in the evening as was so uncomfortable in my not pregnancy wedding dress!!).

nice non-black decent priced dresses for pregnant women don't exist! it's like the fashion industry thinks we all want to wear black horrible materials and blend in! i've got my sisters wedding on sat i'll be 37w, and got a dress out of quiz of all places! just went for a halter neck dress with the waistband under the bust with lots of room for movement! i was getting so frustrated looking for 'maternity' dresses, it's better to just search for a certain style, well thats what i found anyway!

Picchu sell nice dresses on ebay. They are new, I think it is like an outlet store or something. I got a floor length version of this one for about 60 quid.

Dorothy Perkins
and
NewLook

Both have some really pretty maternity dresses, especially the Mamalicious range at DP, some would be lovely for a wedding, and their all good prices.

Asos have nice ones but they're quite dressy, not so much weddingy...

Crave Maternity do some nice things. My sister was a bridesmaid this summer (and 6 months pregnant) and wore the grecian one, she looked lovely.

Ooh, and there's 20% off if you spend over £75!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions - I agree with minimuffy - the fashion industry needs a bit of a kick up the you know what imo! Normally i would agree Janus, I have no problem spending £90 on a non-maternity dress, think I'm just feeling a bit resentful about spending that much on a dress that I know I'll only be able to wear twice. Whereas non-maternity dresses sit in my wardrobe for years, regardless of the fact that I may only wear them once, I'm still under the illusion that I can wear them again! Grin
Will have a look at all the suggestions though, and let you know if I find any other good sites! Thanks Ladies. x

hi bean. What size are you? I have a couple of size 8 maternity dresses that would work for a wedding. One is choc brown colour and one is patterned black and white. They've been sitting around for 3yrs so will have to check they're still ok but you are welcome to them for the price of postage if they would fit. Think both are from jojo maman bebe and are silk.
