Can I stop this pregnancy snoring?

I gave birth to my baby girl 10 days ago and had hoped that the funny snoring and choking-like noises I had been making in my sleep during the last two months of pregnancy would disappear after the birth Hmm

Did you experience this? did it go on its own? have you got any tips to get rid of it?

DH has been sleeping in spare room some nights due to the noise I make (but always comes back in the morning with a kiss and breakfast, very sweet), can't bear the thought of this going on for much longer... Sad

Please help ladies! Thanks a lot!!! Smile

Thanks for your post Mousebacon, I'll give them a try.

However, did you experience that gasping for air Confused associated to pregnancy (due to squeezed lungs, etc) and if so, how long did that feeling take to disappear?

thanks again xx

It will go away on it's own, don't worry. I was the same, and now it's happening again this pregnancy. Ok with dh as he just goes downstairs. Really paranoid in hospital though and hardly got any sleep. horrible

Oh god... So glad to hear it goes! I'm 39+2 and it's driving my DH nuts! He says I sound like a bear! It's so un ladylike and I'm terribly embarrassed. I've never been a snorer before and I don't want it to continue... DH keeps moving into the spare room to get some sleep at night :(

Thanks ladies.

My midwife said sleeping on my side would also help - and this proved correct.

FX Excited Mummy, like a boomerang your DH will return.

I second breath right strips, I wore them every night whilst pg or I woke up with a really dry mouth.

Just to let you all know that I have NOT snored for the past 7 days in a row... hooray! Wink As pregnancy water retention disappeared and I've become more mobile in my sleep the 'grunting' stopped!...
A ray of hope for those still suffering from it!

Thanks for letting us all know that its vanished! My DH has been sleeping in the spare room for the last 8 weeks!

Even though my Neice and Nephew stayed this weekend he prefered to sleep on the sofa as it was a better nights rest! I'm 38+3 so there is light at the end of the tunnel :)
