Nipple Issues, can anyone help?

I have really sensitive nipples, I always have had, even before I became pregnant.

The pain has been getting progressively worse in one nipple over the last few days too.

I noticed this morning in the mirror that I seemed to be 'growing' a second nipple (made me feel really sick), when I looked closer, I noticed that it was actually a small section of my original nipple that had 'split off'.

The whole thing is making me feel incredibly queasy and is very painful, has anyone else had anything like this?

Don't know but I had a little polyp thing grow on the brown part of my breast when I was pg - it get to the same size as my nipple by the time I gave birth. Dh calls it my 'witch's nipple'. Doc said common and no problem but I could have it removed when I finished breastfeeding.

Hello Applemuncher - I am also experiencing bizarre goings on with my nips. I've moved from having sore bazookas to the most over-sensitive nipples I've ever known.

Re: the 'second nipple', I can only refer to something similar I had when I was younger and not pg. I got very dry sore and eventually cracked nips that 'split'. Nip never returned to the rounded way it was before and has a little groove in it.

Obviously, if you're worried and in pain you shold head to your GP. but in the interim, perhaps consider buying some cracked nipple cream as it might be as simple as keeping them soft and supple.
