Poss TMI - Thrush

Bit of back story, at 17+ weeks (now 24 wks), I had an amniocentisis. We ended up in hosp later in the evening because I was leaking fluid. I had an internal and the dr said she could see I had thrush, took a swab and sent it off to the lab. I haven't had a midwife appt since 16 wks (next is 28 weeks) so I don't know the outcome of these swabs. So my question(s) is, how dangerous is thrush in pregnancy if left untreated? Can it go away by itselfs? I never had any symptoms then so would never have known. TIA x

If you've had swabs taken the hospital or gp should contact you if the results come back with anything. You shouldn't have to wait til your next midwife appt. I've had 2 lots of swabs taken and was told I'd hear nothing if they were all clear and they would call or write to me if there was a problem. The problem with the NHS is they are so vague and don't give you the info you need I.e how you get test results. I've had to drag info from them!

I'd call your GP and get them to chase the results.

Spoke to the Dr's, no results. They're going to chase them up at the hospital.

At the time, thrush seemed such a minor thing when we thought the worst was happening re the fluid. Thats why it had completely slipped my mind. If they've 'lost' the results, would it be wise to treat the thrush as if I've definately got it? Or would this be dangerous? Or could it have cleared up (no symptoms but then again didn't have before). Confused.com
