27 weeks plus 2days. Stomach cramps started sat morn thought it was just IBS whichI have suffered from in the past but nowhere near thisintense. Had to go to toilet few times sorry tmi but the cramps continued called midwife and was admitted for monitoring overnight. Cramps definitely eased a lot by sunday morning but still have dull ache in lower back and pains in legs last night. Discharged yesterday by docs they were happy enough as no bleeding or leaking. At admission exam junior doc said she could get a finger tip into cervix but said in woman having DC2 this could be ok, cervix still long. Just looking for any thoughts and advice to put my mind at ease. Home to rest now mum coming round to look after DS thanks for your help to ease my worries can't imagine going this early when DS was overdue

Hi. I have been told that after your first baby, your cervix does not completely close again, so as the Junior Doctor said that sounds normal. About the same time in my second pregnancy I had very similar symptoms with waves of stomach pain and I was diagnosed with a UTI but tests came back clear. I am pretty sure that I was just a bit dehydrated - it was at the peak of the hot weather and I was very thirsty. I made an extra effort to drink plenty and the symptoms eased and disappeared over a few days. Not sure if this applies but try increasing your fluid uptake and see how you feel. Hope you are feeling better soon.x

yea the house doc said I was dehydrated with some ketones present but no UTI. Have to call this morning to see if there is any kidney infection present. Still back pain which strangely allows me to sleep no problem but kicks in first thing in the morning. Have been drinking gallons of water since home thanks for your reply bluefootedpenguin x

let us know how you get on.
My cervix was slightly open from day one with this pg (second DC, fourth pg) - this seems to be fairly common

Hope you feel better soon. It did recur at times but I always found drinking more eased it again.x
