what to wear before night training?

Ds is 3.7 and fairly reliably dry during the day (after an awful spate of pooing in his pants) But still wears nappies at night. Thinking of night training as usually dry but until then, what do your dc wear at night? it seems such a waste when his nappy is dry to use a new one every couple days. Are those pyjama pants easier to reuse? Or should we just go for it with no nappies at night?! in which case, any recommendations for sheets?!

We just used pull ups at night and called them "night time pants" until dd was reliably dry at night. Didn't train her as such
