Nappy refusing 20month old

my DS is currently refusing nappies and ripping them off if I put them on him.

He has today decided he will wee and poo on the potty. He thinks this is a brilliant game, and save for one accident he seems to be doing well.

You can't take a non toilet trained 20 month old to the park and let him run round. It really wouldn't be very nice for anyone to stand in whatever he leaves behind.

Carrying a potty around with you is a contentious subject on MN. Some think it's fine, others like me, think it's not so good. Children maybe aren't ready to tt if they can't hold it in for very long. Where would you empty the potty ? Where would you dispose of the wipes ? What about handwashing ?

He may be ready for tt, but he's very young. Be prepared for it not to go well as you want. If you/he decides he isn't ready, put him in the vests with poppers, but do the poppers up round the back. A nappy refusing toddler will never get out of that. Grin Good luck.

put him in pants and take a potty with you, and sod anyone being offended.

I don't think it's obscence, seeing naked boys but I'd be pissed off at a naked child crapping in the park!
