Hair falling out

My lo is nearly 7 months old now and I was fully prepared for my hair to start falling out after I had him. Thing is it's still coming out in clumps!! Is this normal? I thought it might have stopped by now but every time I wash my hair there appears to be half of it on my hands or in the sink!! I've luckily got quite a bit but I'm worried it's going to be really thin!

You are not alone, and it's totally normal I'm afraid! My hair came out in huge clumps the first time and so I was more prepared when it happened this time.
(Sorry for the gross picture but I was just about to have a shower when I saw your post so thought I'd show you what I meant!)
You definitely won't go bald - but I do have very annoying 'baby hair' growing back now. Urgh!

Ha ha no that fine! Now I can stop worrying which I'm sure doesn't help. Mine is probably about the same amount - it's like I'm hoovering up cousin It at times!Grin

Apparently it's just all the hair you don't lose when you're pregnant. Even though you expect it to fall out, I can completely relate to feeling, 'surely this amount can't be right?!' It is annoying (and worrying when you first experience it) and I have to put mine up constantly as it gets everywhere at the minute.

Mine gets everywhere. I do worry that my lo will get a hair trapped around his finger as he's contact my pulling my hair even when tied up.

At what point does this start? I'm dreading it! My baby is 5 weeks old

It's the horrible downside to the lush, thick mane of pregnancy. After both of mine were born I must have lost a small wigs worth every shower. Depressingly, I'm pregnant again and have a bob of new growth underneath my normal hair from last time. Gawd knows what it'll look like after the next babe arrives. Might have to shave it off

Mine started about a month after I had the baby. Gone is my beautiful lovely glossy hair that I hardly had to wash!

Mine started about 4 months post birth. I used to shed a lot anyway and it just stopped during pregnancy. My hair is thick to begin with but by the end it was noticeably thicker - I couldn't get a hair band around it twice.

Now it's shedding like mad,

Oh god, I remember this!! Mine fell out about three months in and stayed thin for ages it seemed.
As soon as I finished bfing I took dietary hair supplements, which were quite expensive but definitely worth it. I also got hair pieces (those things that look like messy buns, or, as DH calls them, dead rats) and used them loads. You can buy them on Amazon or in boots etc and the colour matches are good. No one noticed mine unless I told them it was fake.
Your hair will grow back eventually, but I know it's yet another crap body change you perhaps weren't expecting! Smile

I might try supplements - mine feels horrible now.
They never mention the stuff after pregnancy do they!
