Interesting article. Talks about elites etc, identifies many of the problems, but doesn't appear to offer any solutions that I could see.

He also says that the term 'neoliberalism' is a myth. He seems to imply that the system is really a crooked stitch-up by the elite.

"The term neoliberal is a bit misleading. The doctrines are neither new, nor liberal. As you say, big business and the rich rely extensively on what economist Dean Baker calls "the conservative nanny state" that they nourish."

Chomsky is an anarchist.

His solution is to abolish Capitalism and hierarchical power structures as as much as possible.

Oh, I didn't realise that.
I don't like anarchy, that just leads to rule by a brutal elite who seize power and don't believe in justice.

And in any case, anarchists are against state power. That's the number on core belief of anarchism - the utter devolution of power.

That is where they differ from communists believe seizing state power is necessary to enact change, after which it will be used to the service of the working class, and then eventually 'dissolve itself', anarchists believe that seizing state power will inevitably lead to one ruling elite being replaced by another.
