time for a new spiritual thread about all things woo?

Hello
new poster on this part of mn and noticed looking back on this board that there used to be a lot more threads about all things woo. Is there any interest to start a general discussion thread? Be really nice to keep this thread to discussing various topics within the realm of spirituality and ask for those who would like too debate whether I am crazy or believe in unicorns to start another thread if they wish to discuss this:) Ty.

So me? Well i am a reiki master...did my masters about 5 years ago but have sort of come away from it for various reasons. not sure if i want to continue with it. i believe in it but not sure its for me

At the moment I am quite into all things mediumship as i have found myself at a crossroads in life. amazing what a range of psychics there are out there. i have personally never had a reading where i thought the reader was completely accurate but i know many who have. my freakiest one was one who told me something about dd's appearance which i had mentioned to someone else recently. i have no idea how she knew it and still a bit freaked out!

I also seem to attract lovely woo people into my life. recently I met up with someone I did a course with. I had not mentioned anything about my interest in all things spiritual and she started to tell me about a reading she had and how her parents house is haunted. So now we meet regularly for coffee with our dds and have spiritual conversations.

Oh and i am also really into law of attraction.

So that's it from me. Please post if there is an interest in a thread of this nature. If not I shall ride into the sunset on my unicorn :)

hiya!!

I too am really into the law of attraction. I first became interested in it after i read "the Secret" about 4 years ago and ever since i have become more and more interested.

I definately believe that thoughts are creative and the more you focus on the things you don't want...the more of those things you will attract. I try to live every day being optimistic and i am so much happier for it.
I have also read " the magic" which has made me realise how things can so easily be taken for granted and how important it is to express your gratitude for everything you have going for and how being thankful brings more things to be thankful for into your life.

I can honestly say that I am a much happier person now than I have been in my whole life. Smile

i created a wish list a while ago, when i was reading the magic....and two of those things have been delivered so far. It definately works but its very easy to feel doubtful sometimes. I've not really used it specifically for money yet. And i seem to sort of go back and review my list and chop and change things!! I really want to create a vision board to help me stay focused on my dreams/goals. Am in the process of trying to find images for it of things i want to achieve.

I love spiritual stuff but am not quite sure what I do believe in yet! I have a qualification in complementary health but am not currently using it

Have read the Secret, is The Magic worth getting too?

Viper. i think a lot of law of attraction stuff can be found online for free but the books are reasonably priced on Amazon . I have mainly used it for money and it nearly always works and money has come from strange and unexpected sources. i have not done a vision board but often thought about it.

"the magic" was definately worth it for me!! it teaches you how to attract more of what you want through gratitude.

Yay! I want to join too!

I've done Reiki 1 + 2 and have been going to a development circle for about 7 months.

I picked an Angel card yesterday and the one I got was Law of Attraction Smile so obviously want to learn more about it.

How weird i should find this thread tonight. I'm at the point where i've finished level 2 reiki and need to be brave enough to go out and earn some money doing it. But even more interestingly, i read about something today i'd never heard of called 'indigo children' and i see there is an indigo on this thread. I've gone from never hearing of it to coming across the term twice in one day! Interesting!

Hi marissa. I have read a bit about indigo children too and the new cohort of children are classed as crystal children apparently ..they are meant to have very pure loving hearts. have not read much about it. indigo children are very creative i think and some say there are links between adhd and indigo children.

I never really worked earning money with my reiki but i did have somr quite amazing experiences after level 2, like dreams and i am sure I had an out of body experience.

those who are curious about loa i can also reccomend cosmic ordering

Indigo kids has literally never crossed my radar which is surprising given my background in autism. My son also has high functioning asd and adhd. Arecrystal and rainbow children the same?
As for reiki, i have become more in tune with other people since i recieved level 2. I've also kept thinking i can see the ghost of the last occupant of our house but i'm used to things like that anyway.
I would really love to do reiki for a living. It's so relaxing to do. And a lovely therapy. I've been told there's a high demand for it now as well. I absolutly love reiki. It's the best thing i've done in years. Amy pagans on here?

I'm with you!

I believe in the law of attraction, and although I've never had any unexpected windfalls, I'm very lucky because I've always been able to find money when I need it. I think it works anyway because if you go through life with optimism and trust that you will be granted the things you need, then you are bound to be happier. I think appreciation is the big secret to happiness.

I have done my reiki 1, and really need to get round to doing reiki 2, although I'm not sure i want to earn money from it. I also need to dedicate more time to meditation.

I believe in angels, and I'm very thankful we have them. They are ace!

I'm not sure about mediums though, I worry because there is too much scope for vulnerable people to be hurt through them. That's not to say that I completely disbelieve, but I don't think it's for me.

Love to everyone on this thread.

Who's going to be the first to claim Jamed Randi's million bucks, then? You don't have to keep it, obviously, but there are loads of charities which would be very grateful for it.....

Lol @seeker. I somehow doubt anyone will.

I believe some people truly are clairvoyant but not all who claim they are if that makes sense and so yes, some do pray n vulnerable people. I believe as i know a couple of people who do this..but like I say sure lots of frauds out there as well.

I love angels and have had some amazing experiences when I have asked the angels for help.

Oh oh is there a woo book club?

angelelle · 24/02/2013 14:46

Welcome . not sure about a woo bookclub, maybe we can start one:)
For those here who do reiki, has anyone heard of or tried karuna? Its the next level on from reiki apparently. I have had it done twice and the energy was amazing. very cool.

Also at the moment curious to visit a spiritualist church. Has anyone been? I haven't but would like to try although I used to work with someone who used to go to them and she was...well ..a little too woo for my liking Grin

Angelelle- my nan was a regular at our local spiritualist church and after she died I went a few times, wasn't expecting any messages but sort of felt drawn there. It was really friendly and lots of folk there that had been going for years.
Do you have one near to you that you could drop into?

Ultimately it was a bit too much for me but I sort of got it if you know what I mean. I think they provide a lot of comfort for those who've recently lost someone.

Yes I've heard that from several friends who have been. that it can get a bit too intense. am not planning to be a regular, just curious really to visit once. yes there are a few near me and a friend who has offered to take me. did you get any messages?

I got a chap who said he felt a message was for me but totally didn't relate to what he was saying. Imagine psychic Sally falling on deaf ears! I felt bad and like I wasn't playing the 'game' in some way.

I went straight to circle meetings though and when I first enquired the lay woman had said come to Sunday service first, it's a gentler introduction.

Would never knock them, there is something special about them and the people who go. Def refreshing change from a regular church.

Good for you though for not just agreeing. I have had a few readings and sometimes I worry that I am just being suggestive (if that's the right word) when on reflection I have made the statements fit. I always plan to go in saying nothing but end up getting a bit overexcited about things:)

Hey all :)
Angelelle, Karuna is a lovely energy too, isn't it? I'm not attuned to that, but I am attuned to a few different types of reiki, and through my journey I can honestly say that when people try to tell you 'this is the next level' etc etc, then it's just that everything is slightly different in a vibrational sense. I think whichever you are drawn to experience, or learn are the right things for you. They are all part of the journey for you, and each will bring their own merits for you.
Marrisab - oooh your angels are speaking to you!! :) Indigos twice in the one day........:)
Hey seeker, I still haven't JR challenge......

Lol thanks indigo. I'm not a believer in angels as such but i do believe we are guided towards certain things through fate. Never heard of Karuna energy. Will have to look in to that. I am prob not as woo as alot of you. I tend to need rational explanations for things. I wouldn't ever go to a spiritualist meet coz i looked in to tgeir background and i don't buy it, but i have had quite a few private readings. I just accept them as fun though. I try not to let them influence any decisions i make. I am more in to energies and working with them etc. I recently eatched "the secret" and i thought it was good. As in, i do believe you can get more positive things in life if you think positive thoughts. Still havn't won the lottery but i WILL! Grin

I go to my local Spiritualist Church every week. There's nice welcome, we sing a couple of hymns and pray, have a reading, and the guest medium give philosophy.

Must be said that the mediums that come along vary in 'ability'- some giving names and places, others grasping at straws. It has been a good three months since I have received a message at church and am starting to think what's wrong with me???!!!!

I have had a look on Amazon for 'The Secret', and the reviews are awful so didn't buy it. Convince me?
