Hi all

I already have 2 existing cats, both neutered, a boy and a girl, both around 2yrs old. Four days ago I brought home two rescued 5 months old kittens, brother and sister, both neutered. At the moment, I am keeping them in my front room separated by a glass door so they have all seen each other by now.

At first, my existing boy was petrified to even walk past the door by as the days go by he actually sits near the door and watches the kittens. The new girl goes all uber protective and territorial, new boy is not bothered.
My existing girl has been curious about them from the day one but does a lot of hissing etc. I took her to meet the kittens just briefly and the little girl has basically chased her to the corner, hair up, hissing etc. My existing girl didnt seem to retaliate, probably she was too shocked to see this little fury creature reacting this way..I couldnt believe how feisty she was. Protecting her brother maybe?

So, where do I go from here? It has been 4 days. Should I just open the door, close my eyes and hope for the best? I know it has to happen, but when? Any advice, story sharing would be greatly appreciated. There is so much conflicting info on the web, I am a bit lost.

THANK YOU xx
