Single parent holiday horror

Now, am I alone in this freaking torment? I'm delighted to be able to afford to bring my child to a beautiful, sunny island but am I alone in feeling like some kind of bell-ringing leper come the evening entertainment stuff? It's ok to sit by the pool whilst my child had fun and makes friends but come the evening kids' club stuff: send the freaking life raft PLEASE?!
