HELP!...I have dropped off invitations at nursery yesterday for a birthday party on saturday (age 3).

We have been on holiday and I work full time so not very organised... I only have 1 acceptance so far and 2 declining as on holiday/otherplans.....is this clearly my own useless organisation for the social event of the year? Do you cancel the party if you have one little one coming?

There were 4 others invited before the holiday and none can make it and these were close friends as they are away/own birthday plans..

What to do? Jesus who knew these things were so complex...

If it is only one then could you do a play date for the same time instead and reorganise the party to give people more notice?

Its a problem during the summer as theres so much on, and by Wednesday of a week people usually have decided what to do that weekend.

Go ahead with the one who has accepted, making it into a fancier than usual playdate
