Hi all :)

My middle step daughter is turning 11 in June, and I wanted to make a big deal of it for her. She has had a bit of a rubbish few months and has had friendship troubles, a lot of issues with her bio mum and I just want to spoil her.

So as not to drip feed, she has lived with DP and myself since she was 3, has had sporadic contact with her bio mum and this has all been done through SW. Contact's been stopped for a while, and she broke down a month ago as it was revealed her older brother was having unauthorised contact. He's high school age (14) and it was happening on his way home from school - mum bang out of order but that is a completely different thread tbh.

So DSD had a bit of a break down, and at the same time had some fall outs with best friends who were being mean to her and were name calling about her weight etc. The two were completely unrelated but both hit at the same time.

So - point of the thread! I wanted to have a bit of a surprise party for her, nothing major. Would be in the house, or an activity outside if that suited better but after ideas and thoughts really. I want it to be all about her.

Family dynamics, have 2 boys and 4 girls here, my oldest DD had a pamper party for her 11th and as much as DSD enjoyed it, some of her closest friends are tomboys so wouldn't enjoy this so much :) I'd like to cater for boys and girls alike.

So MN - please could you fire some ideas at me on how to make this special for a special girl?

For my DD's 11th birthday, we took about 12 of them llama walking. One llama between two girls, and a picnic half way round followed by birthday cake at the pub where the llamas were stabled. Would thoroughly recommend.

Ten pin bowling.

Segway ride. The one DD did, I think there was a minimum weight restriction so you would have to check.

Swimming with inflatables etc.

Laser quest type thing.
