Hi helenmc

How about these - the first 2 are fairly healthy, the last one is just yummy, but they are all really easy to make (in fact dd could probably help!)

Curly Sues
15g butter, melted
quarter tspn curry powder
1 sheet puff pastry
quarter cup grated cheese
Combine butter and curry powder. Brush pastry with butter mixture and sprinkle with cheese, pressing cheese firmly into pastry. Cut into strips 1.5cm wide, by 8cm long. Twist pastry to create a tight curl effect. Place on baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in a moderately hot oven (200C if fan-forced, 220C conv oven) for 15 mins or until golden. Cool slightly before serving or serve cold. Makes 3 dozen.

Fruity Bliss Balls
1 and a half cups dried apricots, finely chopped
quarter cup apricot nectar
half cup desiccated coconut
3 tblspns milk powder
2 tblspns icing sugar
extra coconut
Place apricots and nectar into a microwave safe bowl. Cook on high for 2 mins. Remove, stir and allow to cool. Stir through remaining ingredients, except extra coconut. Cover and place in refrigerator until firm. Place extra coconut on a piece of plastic wrap. Roll mixture into a sausage shape on the extra coconut then wrap up. Refrigerate overnight or until firm then cut mixture into small pieces or roll them into balls. Store in fridge. Makes approx 24.

Choc Bubble slice
60g butter
125g marshmallows
3 cups rice bubbles
3 tblsns drinking choc
Melt butter in a saucepan. Add marshmallows and stir over low heat until melted. Combine rice bubbles and drinking choc in a bowl. POur over melted butter mixture and stir quickly to coat rice bubbles. Press into a lightly greased lamington pan 17cm x 27cm. Refrigerate until firm and cut into slices. (This is yummy but very sticky!)

Helenmc, my children are life long veggies and i think the suggestions made by sobernow and mollipops are great! What about veggie samosas and dips served with bread sticks and slices of veggies?

self-assembly pizzas made with crumpets/muffins rather than dough are v exciting..just a moment under the grill once each child has placed all the toppings on themselves...yum yum.

How about
1 Vegetable rolls (like sausage rolls - frozen from supermarkets)
2 Other spreads and dips like Mushroom pate (one all my meat eating friends love ) try the deli in any big supermarket - great on bread or with breadsticks, crackers etc
3. what is wrong with peppers, onions, mushrooms sweetcorn, etc added to pizza buy a plain one and add them yourself)

helenmc - check with the friends mum. One of my dd's friends is Vegan, and, because I couldn't guarantee what was or wasn't in the ingredients his mum asked if it was ok to send her own food, we agreed on the types of food, (various sandwiches, sausage rolls, pizza etc.) and she sent similar but Vegan items for her ds. All the kids at the party were in the same class, so they knew that he ate 'different' food, and none of them were bothered.
