Party pieces is here - no date given but you could ring them?

I was going to suggest Hawkin's Bazaar but they're closed all week apparently.

I've just had the exact problem, missed Baker Ross by 3 hours! Have found this They are open at the moment. I ordered just before Christmas and they emailed me the next day to say they had dispatched my parcel, although it hasn't turned up yet.

If you've got a warehouse clearance shop near you they have load of boy/ girl things for less than a pound each, Woollies if near you have lots of bumper sweet bags; finally Wilkinson's is excellent for little bits and very cheap (for 40 children)..Have you got much time left?

Have you got an ASDA near you? I find they have loads of stuff really cheap. I also do pencil/feltpens as well as sweets, necklaces, hairbands etc which can be bought in a bundle and split up.

As the party is on the 10th then do try Hawkin's Bazaar - the site says anything ordered at the moment will be despatched w/c Jan 5th, they do express delivery (ie next day) for an extra £6 and by then services should be back to normal.

Failing that, Woolies have lots of multi-packs of party bags. Matalan is good for girly things - multi-packs of stretchies etc. Also try Claire's Accessories. Don't know what your budget is per head - can imagine for 40 (are you mad, woman?) it's not very much! - but you could fill up with fun-size chocs (Lidl's own-brand are good).

Can't you just take a walk down to the nearest toy shop and look at the cheap bit? Thats where we get all our party bits and pieces.

(Select Party Bag Fillers from the drop-down category menu.)

You could do the last minute Christmas decs Blue Peter made instead of party bags.

One of the mums at school did something similar for her daughter's 6th birthday party last year - cellophane cones filled with sweets and a pencil stuck thru the top to make a kind of Dick Whittington pouch.

Have fun.
