FGS DS1 is 10, I shouldn't ahve to stand over him int eh shower to make sure he washes his face properly

or clean his teeeth for him as he just wets the brush and runs it over his teeth.
He has just got out the shower, where he has washed all his body except his face. it is filthy,as he is a very messy eater.
I gave him the cloth to do it, but he wouldn't, so i ended up holding him in an (almost) headlock to do it. I am tempted to jsut leave him with a dirty mouth and face and let him go out and to school with it. Does it get better?

Umm, I'm only a couple of years in front of you and I have a DD, but no, so far, it doesn't get any better!

I think the key here, is to let him get on with it and don't let it bother you. As hard as it seems, he's got to learn that te girls won't fancy a smelly! I often say to dd, 'well, its not me that has to go out and make an impression!' That's usually enough to make her think about her appearance and hygene!

Time to relax the parenting, m'dear!
