Is there a time when you become averse to the smell of your child's body?

On another board a woman posted and said she found her 8 year old smelled really bad after doing sports etc

I was surprised, seemed quite young for that sort of thing to start?

DDs morning pooey nappies are pretty pongy.I have to air the room out!!!

on a serious note my DS1 is 9.5 and his breath and body have started to pong a bit

couldn't stand the smell of DD1 when pregnant with DD2 - literally made me sick particularly when she was wet - a bt like wet dog poor thing.

Hormone smells are particularly offensive to close relatives.

That's why mothers and sisters thing the boys of the family smell worse than any othrs. they DON'T, but we are supposed to think they do so we don't breed with them.

I've never liked the smell of ds1's hair - has always reminded me of a wet dog smell - even when it's dry. It's always made me feel guilty as he's not my biological son and dp doesn't think he's got wet dog smell...

ds used to vomit alot. He sometimes has bad breath. I encourage him to brush his teeth but nothing helps. I feel so bad .

my friends dd has b.o and shes only 8 and wears deodorant

My gorgeous dd aged 9 and ds aged 6 can both have pongy arm pits if they've been running around doing p.e. etc. Spomke to school nurse and she said it was ok to use deodrant but not anti perspirant. Bought her one called something like 'Bionsen' as it doenst have the stuff in that can cause cancer (I just use the cheap stuff!). SHe doenst use it all the time. Maybe a coupelof times a week.

My sister instructed her dd in the fine arts of deodorant at age 11, after a reach for the biscuits "nearly killed" her. (the mum, that is )

my kids dont smell and my oldest is 10 ,he never has even a faint wiff coming off his feet. mine stink tho

Interesting thread. I can't imagine it but DH says toddler DD's breath smells. (I can't see it, nor does our dentist)
