Hi, not sure if i'm posting in the right place, but could anyone give me an idea of how much there 2 yr old is drinking during the day, and night?
I'm a little concerned that ds is drinking too much, and poss causes.
so far today he's had 2 milk 300ml, 3 cups of juice about 300ml again, and a cup of water, and would prob drink more if he had it in his hands.
Am I just reading into this too much, or is it too much?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, could be normal but it may be just as well to get him checked by the GP. Sometimes, excessive drinking can be an indication of another issue. Could also be a consequence of diet variety? I would suggest going to see the GP/Health Visitor and they could give you a steer.

Milk can make people thirsty when they drink it as it is too thick. Juice is sugary, I would drink it endlessly given the chance. I would have a chat to the health visitor, who will say that juice is sugary and suggest you replace it with water. I suggest you replace the juice with water that has chopped fruit added to give it a bit of flavour. It still has sugar though because of the fruit but it will be less then juice.

does he eat alright?

My ds drinks alot - but has problems eating. As we have managed to get him eating more his drinking has gone down (he used it instead of food to quench hunger).

He drank (and still does) much more than that though. That's just under 2 litres (which adults are recommended a day). Ds was around 5 litres at peak.

I would say it's quite a bit, but not a worrying amount unless he has anything else you are worrying about.

I think i'll limit the juice, it is pure orange watered down, but still i'm sure it has sugar in it.
He eats ok, not perfectly.
SwissCheese, health visitor mine is a nightmare, wouldn't go to her for nappy rash issues let alone anything else!
thanks for the replies.
