she goes two mornings a week
8 hours on total
she is very bright and needs to be occupied, not just sit in front of telly whilst mummy tries to keep her eyes open and look after gecko
what little acitvities can I keep in seperate boxes, teach her to clear away with me, be fun for her and akin to what they did at nursery and dont cost the earth

I know they do playdoh, sand and water play (agggh) and she loves to colour and they also do sticking and cutting
They do soooooooo much with her and I am goign to fail jher

she gets bored so easily and then becomes grumpy and disruptive

she is 2.11 btw

She is entitled to five free sessions when she is 3.

She will be 3 soon, yes? Have you contacted the local schools with nurseries to get her a place?

A session = 2.5 hours, so five sessions would give her more than she is currently getting.

OK.

Painting
glueing
marble painting (tray, paper, splodge paint on paper then roll marble around)

I can teach you how to bake, if you want!

you could do with a toddler group like the one we run at our church - we always do a craft activity with the older children and sing at the end - the rest of the time they just play - we have some dressing up stuff, slides, kitchens etc. baby would enjoy it too - do you know of any near you? Apologies if you already go to several.

Wrapping up toys in cheap wrapping paper or wallpaper offcuts to make 'presents' for daddy.

Making own sandwiches for lunch.

Cutting and sticking from mags and papers.

Water play can be ok on kitchen floor with lots of towels and pots and pans to pour. Or just use the bath.

Home made playdough.

Gloop-cornflour and water.

Different shaped pasta and various containers and pots and pans.

Practice cutting by snipping at paper.

Definitely try and get organised by having some kind of structure to the day. will be happier to entertain herself if she knows you will be doing something with her later.

It's always hard when you leave something and move on to something new - I found dd2 leaving nursery for school very, very hard and am dreading dd1 leaving her lovely school for the big, scary world of Big school! You don't need to make it better for her though - she will adjust. Little ones are so much more accepting than us - but if you get upset she will - so take your dark glassess with you for her last day!
