DD is soaking through her nappies every night - any tips?

DD is 16 months and is sleeping through from 7pm to 7am (hurray!). She seems to want to drink more than usual at the moment and when she wakes up her vest and sleepsuit are both wet through.
She wears Sainsburys (paper) nappies. Are there any brands that really do cope with a full night time and a thirsty baby?

i used to put a pull up nappy over a normal paper nappy for my heavy wetters...

ds3 converted me to cloth with his sensitive bum, and now i have a washable nappy combo that works, with a wool shorts wrap. even when it is totally soaked int he morning, it copes and allows the skin to 'breathe' too.

I think that part of the problem is that DD has always been such a bad sleeper. Now that she is sleeping through reliably, there is no way that we are going to risk waking her!

DD is a very heavy wetter at night and I use pampers baby dry - they are pretty good at night. I use cloth or nature babies disposables in the day but neither of them have ever really been good enough.

Also, what size is she in? I use the 4+ for night time even though I only use a 4 in the day.

my Ds (18mo) is in the 4+ active fit pampers.. we've had a few leaks, but i've found that not letting him have much to drink two hours before bedtime solves it, its good as long as you make sure they get plenty in the day.

pampers baby dry
if your LO is between sizes then go one size up for the nighttime

DD is a bit on the large side and is in a 5 (junior) already! I had always found that the cheaper supermarket nappies were as good as the branded versions, but it seems that this is a case where we will need to splash out on some pamper and huggies and see what works.
Just had a rummage in DD's room and I found some pull-ups that MIL gave me when she was born (bless!), so that could work as an extra layer too.
DD is a very thirsty little girl and is crying for her night-time bottle as part of her routine, and glups it down (despite a lot of fluids in the day AND a lot of water-rich food like fruit). Like I said, it has taken us a long time to get her into this routine, so I am very reluctant to drop her favourite part of the bed-time routine.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I had wondered if I just had to put up with it and double my laundry, so I'm glad to see there are solutions.

I have tried all brands and pampers baby dry will hold the most

I agree with TheBlonde, you only need to splash out for the nighttime ones - a packet will last you a month .

And no, don't mess around with her routine!

I use huggies super dry, and they nearly always catch it all.. but sometimes end up doing a nappy change at 4-5 am, he squawks, I change the nappy, he goes back to sleep (17 months old).

I also find using a slightly bigger size of nappy can help...

Pampers Baby Dry work really well for us overnight, but I'm using a bigger size than the weight reccomendation on the pack. DD is a quite small 19 month old, weighs around 20lbs and I use size 5 on her. Daytime I use a combination of cloth or Boots Superdry in 4+ (which is quite big on her so I could probably put her in a 3 or 4).

we use nappies (pampers or huggies) and then hold ups pants over the top to keep them in place - and always use a potty before bed
