My two are chuffed to bits with the new possibilities for outdoor play. They have their toys from last year like hula hoop, baby walker, big and small slide, trampet and bits.

What do your little ones like to do outside?

Oh they love playing bubbles too ...

Please share, need ideas!

i'm v excited about nicer weather coming.

DS1 has been my 'peg boy' today, passing me pegs for the washing, he loved it!

am getting a new back wall and gate so it's safer, and some raised flower beds so i can still have plants without them being trampled. i don't have much room, but hopefully i'm designing it to maximise the space.

been thinking about a covered sandpit and bubbles. we collect stuff (twigs, leaves) to glue onto card and put on the fridge too.

Ds likes to pootle about with a trowel digging in random bits of soil. He has a toy trowel, fork, bucket set, but ignores that in favour of my proper trowels and fork.

Also likes playing with twigs.

dd (2.8) got a sand/water table for her birthday last summer she loves it. She also helps me weed and dig the garden and we put out her sun tent and a picnic rug and have picnic lunches with teddies when its warm. we also go bug and worm hunting. We've just got some frogspawn so we're hoping we can do froglet hunting soon. And feeding the birds and she loves watering the plants when the weathers drier. Basically she tries to do anything I'm doing, unless I just want to sit in the sun and read a book, its not allowed!

we like doing standard stuff outside, we have a sand pit and play house and making wigwams from my sarongs and wood lots of stuff but DS1 and I had lots of fun last year with a mini washing line and I had cut out Tshirt and trouser and pant shapes - we painted them funny colours and stuck glitter on them and stuff then pegged them on the mini line to dry a great afternoons entertainment.

I can't wait to do it all again

Mine 'paint' the fence/ wall/ my windows with plain water and proper adult paint brushes- they love it and it keeps them amused for hours- especially in the summer when it dries quick and you can say ' look you missed a bit!'.
