I have come to the conclusion you can't have any time to do anything for yourself when the kids are awake

How old are your children?

Mine are nearly seven and four and a half. I am here (up at the top of the Inferiority Complex). They are playing Noah's Ark two floors below.

Well DH is cooking risotto with the boys so I am getting some time to myself atm but generally I do agree that time to myself is limited!!

I agree - not even if someoneelse is in charge - if I'm in the house it is impossible

i;d like to be able to go for a wee without DD standing outside the locked door shouting, or if i let her in, helpfully handing me loo roll and telling me i am a good girl!

i do get some time now she plays independently, and DS is at school

I disagree. The trick is to be boring so they don't expect to be entertained by you Oh, and train them early to be independant

I get loads done while mine are awake but maybe they're older than yours. We were saying this morning that this is blissful and would have been unimaginable 2 years ago. Ds is 10, dd is 4.

And we've ALWAYS gone to the loo alone...

agree, nab, until they are older. Right now, the 4 year old alone is ok for getting things done in between toilet stops and playing Guess Who. But throw ds 1 into the mix, and it is a non-stop zoo.
