i vaguely remember. Wasn't it some study that said if fathers were the carer then boys were less intelligent? I don't think it said stupid though.

I stored the article in my favourites. it was on news.com.au on the 23 November. Not sure how to link it onto here though.

Brilliant yogimum, I was starting to think I must have dreamt it!

I wonder if I search that site if it would come up. I am sure there was a thread about it on here though!

Thanks for finding that for me yogimum! Was dying to read that.

Now that I have, I'm not sure what I think. Sounds a bit like cobblers after all!

Was it not picked up on by the press in this country?

I like the way that article says "dumber". Kids are dumb obviously - toddler boys raised by dads are significantly "dumber"!

It does sound a bit dubious and even if it's true, it's a shame if it puts any dads off parenting their boys. Maybe they bring other things even if not intellectual stimulation - like physical play, inspiring confidence or just plain fun. I know when DP is in charge of DS, DS is more likely to end up having a go on the computer or go to the swings, and when he's with me, he's more likely to do some baking or go to the museum. Doesn't mean one is better than the other and both make DS happy.

I agree snowleopard.

I wonder exactly what the "robust" evidence consists of?

Here is the actual study if anyone has the time to read the whole thing...

That sounds ridiculous.
