My ds (16mths old) is throwing a major tantrum because he couldnt have a biscuit before his tea! he is normally very placid and good but since he came home from his Grandmas house last weekend he has done this every day and it wearing me down, the other day it was 5 in the morning and went on for an hour and a half all because i gave him water to drink instead of milk!

im just ignoring him at the moment but its been half an hour already and my mum is coming over soon to watch him while i go xmas shopping and i dont want her to have to put up with him in this state.

How do i handle this one?

There comes a point where they are beyond calming themselves down. If he has reached this and is hysterical, I would offer him a cuddle, no backing down on the biscuit and not too much fussing, but he may need your help now to calm down.

I tried offering him a cuddle but he gets worse if i go near him, he calms down when im out of the room, then starts again as soon as i come back in
