Do you mean you had a rear facing seat installed, in the boot? I dont' think that would have integrated boosters. We have a Volvo XC90 and it has one integrated booster in the middle of the middle row. It should be fairly obvious if you do have them, there would be a handle thing on the front to move it into the booster position.

You need to see where the seatbelts go with respect to passengers' shoulders, when rear row is in use. We have XC90 too; I think the seats are "shorter" by a bit, so if your child is, say, borderline around the height limit for a booster, it may be OK not to use one in the rear seats. Really depends on the design, especially as you've gone for retro fitting. Ask the dealer ?

mey old family had a volvo XC70 (i think)

with 5 normal seats, and 2 seats rear facing in the back (boot) (they got these installed when they bought the car new tho)

it said that these seats were ONLY suitable for children up to 36kg (ie adults could NOT sit there), therefore you didnt need to use a booster with the seats cause the 'booster' was built in.

I wouldnt put a child under 15kg on the seat tho

saying that i sat in those seats a coiple of times, but then im only little and only 152cm!
