What's causing his sore mouth :-(

Hi just wondering if anyone has any similar experiences. My 10 month old DS has had a really sore mouth for a couple of days, he's teething of course but has never reacted like this to his other teeth arriving. He's drooling LOADS, has a few spots round his mouth which I thought might be HF&M but none anywhere else and they haven't got any worse since yesterday. Spots rather than blisters. He also has one in his lip, again a spot, doesn't look like a cold sore but maybe it is?? Anywho he's in loads of discomfort when trying to eat, can't take a bottle at all, no solid food apart from v smooth yoghurt, looks hungry and like he wants it but then once it's in his mouth he flinches and crys, I've managed to give him some formula in a sippy cup which he's taking with difficulty but at least it's something. There's no obvious ulcers or anything I can see. Giving him calpol and baby nurofen... Any other ideas? He's sleeping now with no dummy which is unheard of, he just can't suck one the poor lad... TIA

Thanks, went to NHS walk in who diagnosed possible hand foot and mouth without any spots on feet and hands, have a mouth spray to numb his mouth (he has spots in there too), fingers crossed he feels better soon!'
