My 2 year old wakes before 7am. I make sure of it!

Naps for an hour to an hour and a half.

Not tired till 9pm ish. I'm normally ok with this. But it's starting to drain me and I miss Big Brother.

I'd like to add that she's hyper. She cannot keep still till the second she's asleep.

What should I do? Drop nap or cut it down? Accept this is how it is? Or ask GP for tranquilliser? (Just kidding).

Try cutting nap down to 1 hr but plenty of children have dropped their daytime nap by 2 so be prepared for her to be up all day (and knackered by 7!)

The only way I could my DS to go to sleep at 7.30 was to drop his nap. He had been having 1.5 hours at lunchtime, but was up till 9.30pm, sometimes later. We dropped it, found they for the first few weeks he still needed a nap every 3-4 days (and on they night stayed up late) but within 5-6 weeks he no longer needed that at all. He's exhausted by 7.30. He's now 2.4 months, we stopped it about 10 weeks ago. We now find that even if he naps for 10 mins that gives him enough to keep going all evening so wechace to be careful to not let him nap at all, hard for car journeys etc, and if he does then just accept he'll be up that evening. Using iPad and chocolate buttons to keep him awake in the car!

Well j cut it right down to half an hour today and she's hyper still. I've been bit scratched head butted (accidental) and just feel like crying and giving up.

Are you me? DS can go without a nap and will be a bit....er...challenging from 5.30ish but will be sound asleep by about 6.30pm and sleep until about 6am. If he naps, the he's not in bed until 8.30-9pm. It all depends on what we are doing. I'm just trying to roll with it but it's really annoying when I want to watch something other than peppa pig of an evening

It's a challenge isn't it?! HV said yesterday to make her bath/bs routine later to 815 if she's averaging 9pm sleep time.

Also said at her age not unusual to drop naps most days too! Not brace enough for that 😂

Does she get plenty exercise and fresh air during the day OP? My MIL always compared kids to puppies and says they need lots of walking every day to wear them out Grin

Blimey yes. We walk dogs every day and she does an activity in the morning, dance, swim, forest school, play dates. We don't stop. She thrives on movement and exploration bless her x
