Baby won't take bottle - nursery nurse to come and help ?

Hi everyone my baby is nearly 6 months old and to date has point blank refused to take a bottle. I think I've tried everything ( leaving her with her dad for the day, £80 worth of different bottles and cups, doing it at night when she is half asleep ...)

I want to stop breast feeding now so need to get her on the bottle ASAP. I've heard that some people have found a private nursery nurse or health visitor who they have left their baby with for the day until they give in.

Has anyone heard of this, is it an urban myth ? Any idea how I go about finding one ..

Thank you

I haven't heard of one, but could you give one of the bfing helplines a call? A BFC will be able to advise you on bottle refusal and the best way to stop bfing for you and your baby Smile

I had this issue. Sounds like you have already tried quite a few but my DS would only teake mam bottles and I have heard that this is quite common with bf babies (ie only taking mam). He would also never take ebm from a bottle weirdly, only formula and it has to be quite warm, as in hotter than reccommended but obvs not scalding. Don't know if that helps.
