My DD is 5 weeks told today and EBF.

I'm assuming these are milk spots? Is there anything I can do to treat them? They look so extreme Sad.

Hi my dd is also 5 weeks and over the last couple of days has developed spots on her cheeks, look similar but not quite as many.

I have been looking at Google pics and decided they were just baby acne or 'milk spots' but I'm no expert, but as she is still perky and nothing else seems unusual I just decided to see if they go away alone.minthink I remember the same for dd1.

But if you are worried or any other symptoms then see a professional!

Looks a bit like milk spots to me, although I'm no professional.

Its best to leave them be, its just the baby adjusting to different levels of hormones from being born and the levels in your breastmilk. They will clear up on their own.
Ds cleared up around 8 weeks.

Looks like baby acne/erytema toxicum to me - www.patient.co.uk/health/erythema-toxicum-neonatorum-leaflet

My DD had it from about 4 weeks for a month, it looked horrible but never upset her in any way, and didn't leave any marks at all. I couldn't find anything made it much better - possibly sudocrem. It seemed to flare up red after she fed.

My son had this too, all over his face, back of neck and head. He didn't have much hair when he was born but what he did have fell out Sad I was assured that it was just my hormones coming out of him but it did carry on for quite a long time.

He's 8 now and has terrible dry skin all over him and bad eczema patches in the creases. He also has allergies, they are seasonal although he's affected by creams, soaps, sun cream, sun and pool water too. Don't know if it's all connected, I just wish I'd pushed it with the gp when he was a baby.

My son had similar spots for quite a while. It was a combination of milk spots and baby acne. Are you going to see your GP for an 8 week check up? If so, ask about it - ours gave us a perscription for some cream that cleared it up.
If not show it to your health visitor when you next see them and they'll be able to let you know what it is and what to do.

Totally normal. Both dd had it. Dd1 had it badly but someone told me to use aveeno cream with dd2 and cleared up in a day!

DS had this at about 3/4 weeks, milia or something?

Someone on here said put breast milk on them, so I expressed a bit and dabbed it on with cotton wool.

It actually did work a bit, the spots dried up a bit and were less red.

They'll be gone soon either way. Congrats on your gorgeous newborn! Flowers

They want away after a fortnight or so and her skin is all clear again :)
