My DS is almost 2 and a half and I think we are ready to try potty training. He tells me if he has been to the loo, hates wearing nappies and can be dry after a nights sleep. Help! What do I need to start potty training? TIASmile

Dunno about contraptions for boys, but dig out the changing mat from your old changing bag and fashion a waterproof pad for the car seat, take him out to buy pants, and get in some chocolate buttons for him and Wine for you Grin

Oh start loudly announcing when you need a wee too (and if you have DP get him to do it), so that he cottons on that he must do the same.

You can get things called piddle pads on ebay - a waterproof fleece covered pad that goes in the buggy or car seat - I found it great, they didnt want to wee on their 'special cushions' and I don't think they ever had an accident in the car or buggy.

For my DS I got a ping pong ball and put it down the toilet for him to "aim" at. He thought this was a hilarious joke and he had peeing cracked within a week or so.

He also, went straight to the toilet, as his penis pressed against the plastic of the potty (he was a bit chubby) and he didn't find it comfy. His personal preference was the pee standing up straight from the beginning, but I know some friends trained their sons to sit down to pee for a few months until they got the hang of it.

Reward with stickers/chocolates/treats.

It's an exciting time!
