DD (5) has always had a good imagination, but lately the stories have been changing from funny to quite serious.
She is now making up lots of stories about people being unkind or hurting her - I would be concerned, but I am present lots of the time and I hear her making up stories and telling them to other children and adults.
Last night she told DH that grandpa hurt me with a knife! He didn't, she fell over.
She has also started to lie about things too. I always say that mummy won't be cross if you please tell me the truth and admit if you have done something, but she keeps on denying it until I prove to her why I know it's a lie.
I have spoken to her about this, but it doesn't really seem to have any effect.
I just don't know what to believe any more, which is such a shame as we have some lovely chats. It clearly isn't an attention seeking thing, as she gets an awful lot of attention.
I was going to read her 'The Boy who Cried Wolf' or something similar - does anyone have any good suggestions?
