is this normal?

as she is with me more than she is with her Daddy (my Dp) as he works adn im a SAHM. she hugs me but doesnt really hug her Daddy and Dp ask her alot for "cuddles" and "kiss" but most of the time she doesnt want to as its now and again she'll go to Dp for a hug.. but i dont find it a problem asking her for cuddles and kisses, now and again she doesnt want them. i do say to baba "now give your Daddy a cuddle".. she eventually gives him a cuddle (he has asked me why she is liek that.. i said maybe cos of your beard as its rough and you always messed with her blowing raspberries in her neck, which she doesnt mind

If me and Dp hugs each other and having little kissies, it upsets baba so we have to give her a cuddle so she doesnt feel left out.

biglips
my dd was like this for a long time as dh wnet away to work and i was at home all the time with her.
perhaps if you left her with her nana or s.o close and if your dp came home first and you after him she might change a little

when i had ds it changed and she got much more affectionate, i blame myself as i really kept her to me alot of the time...

I hate to tell you biglips but my dd is still like this and she's 3! She does have moments when she really wants a cuddle with dp now whereas 6 months ago she always wanted to be with me if I was around. But she'll never let him do bath, bedtime etc. it has to be me! Although I'm the one who's with her most, dp does look after her alone for 2 days each week when I work so I can't say it's because he's unfamiliar ...

Well, they'll fall in love with daddy some time I guess.

well baba is fine with her Daddy with everything but not cuddles and kiss. DD is very affectionate (and so is DP), if she is upsets and dp picks her up to reassure her, she more or less jump out of his arms to me !

kliest - that interesting as i was watching "the house of the tearways" and they stated that the children prefer to go the most softie parent who let their children get away with anything than the dominant, discipline one - iykwim?

my dd is still like this at nearly 4, but last night when I got shampoo in her eyes at bathtime she screamed "I WANT MY DADDY" at the top of her voice. It made him feel wanted at least!

DS is like this too! Think it's just part of having young kids. If you can leave her with DP more, that might help?

Biglips, I think that's rubbish to be honest, what you said about House of tiny tearaways. I'm far and away the most disciplinary out of me and dp. I can't believe the things he lets dd get away with! Makes me shudder ...
