What's your opinion on people who do this?

Doze on the sofa while a 2.5 year old runs around the room. Is it dangerous or not?

I have been really ill the last few days and my kids have virtually looked after me! They are a bit older - 6 and 4, but I certainly have dozed on the sofa while they run around when they were younger. I rememeber one new years day (milenium I think) where I had got to bed at 5am, dd had woken at 7 (she was about 9 months) and we spent a good couple of hours with her crawling around and me dozing.

Ive always done it from when they were 1,let alone 2 and a half! We all have our "danger radars" on, don't we?

Chance'd be a fine thing. I've never managed to doze when my kids are in the room. Even at 6AM when they've just come into my room shouting and singing and demanding cornflakes.

Good thank goodness, was starting to feel a bit guilty, but am pregnant and working shifts, so have introduced my ds to a new nanny. Her name is cbeebies

I had to do it when I was pg as I always got bad pg tiredness and could rarely go a day without a nap. Thank God I have sensible kids.

I wouldn't do it, you are there to look after them surely? How can you do that when asleep?

It does of course depend on the child. My kids are pretty sensible (girls often are) and although they might make a mess, they are never doing anything dangerous

Can't do it hysterical with tiredness either olive oil. He wakes me up every 3 minutes or so, so never get properly asleep.

I've done it - but with one ear open IYKWIM. Can hear what's on TV but so know what is going on. A full on sleep - no but a doze - yes.

I did it when I was pregnant and DS was 2.5 at the time. In the early stages I felt so horrendously tired all the time. Also he was at the just about giving up naps stage so I made him sit on his bed and look at books after lunch and went and laid on my bed.

watching Barney is obvioulsy extremely dangerous, and I have no sympathy with parents whose children get access to it while they sleep.

Cant see a problem with it at all.

thats what sat mornings, between the hours of 7 and 9 were for in our house (shes now starting to wake later ). Dd with cup of warm milk running round playing and mammy on the sofa dozing with telly on.

lol i do it as much as possible. Especially now at 8mths pregnant with a hyper 2.1yr old..lol
